Introduction
With advanced price rules you set a different margin per price range. For example: 100% margin on products that cost you up to €10, 50% on products between €10 and €50, and 30% above that. This is much more flexible than one margin for the whole catalogue.
Availability: advanced price rules are only available on subscriptions with advanced features. If your plan does not include them, you will see the message "This feature is only available to subscriptions with advanced features" with an option to upgrade.
Important: rules replace your simple margins
As soon as a supplier connection has one or more advanced price rules, those rules take over completely. Your normal B2B price margin (%) and SRP margin (%) settings are no longer used for that supplier. In the portal this is stated when you save: the price settings on the underlying page will be reset.
Products whose price falls outside all of your rules get the supplier's SRP (suggested retail price) as their selling price.
The parts of a rule
Price type: which price do we check against the range - the B2B Price (purchase price, excluding VAT) or the Suggested Retail Price?
From and To: the price range this rule applies to. "From" is inclusive, "To" is exclusive. So a rule from 10 to 100 matches products of exactly €10.00 up to €99.99, but not €100.00. Make your next rule start at 100 so there are no gaps.
Apply margins to: the base price we calculate with - B2B Price (we first add VAT to it) or Suggested Retail Price (already includes VAT).
Percentage: the markup percentage added to the base price.
Fixed: a fixed amount in euros added after the percentage.
Rounding: optional rounding in cents for this rule only (for example 95 for prices ending in .95). This overrides the supplier-wide rounding setting. See Psychological price rounding.
A calculation example
Rule: Price type B2B Price, From 0, To 50, Apply margins to B2B Price, Percentage 50, Rounding 95. A product with a B2B price of €10.00 (VAT 21%):
The B2B price (€10.00) falls in the range 0–50, so the rule applies.
Base price = B2B price + VAT: €10.00 × 1.21 = €12.10
Add 50%: €12.10 × 1.50 = €18.15
Round to .95: €18.95

Good to know
Rules are checked in order; the first rule that matches a product is used.
Saving rules does not reprice products that are already in your import list or store. Click Update all product prices on the supplier settings page to apply the new rules to everything.
MAP protection still applies on top of rules: if a supplier requires a minimum advertised price and your rule prices below it, the price is raised to the MAP. See Minimum advertised price (MAP).
