Just installed GOGETTERS? This article walks you through the recommended first steps. In the Shopify app, the dashboard shows a Setup guide with three steps and a progress indicator ("x out of 3 steps completed"); this article follows those steps and adds two more we recommend before you go live.
Step 1: Check your company details
Open the setup guide step 1. Check your company details and click Check (or open My company on the dashboard). Complete your company details and VAT number - this is required to enable one-click suppliers and to get the correct VAT on invoices and supplier payments. See Company details and VAT number.
Step 2: Activate a supplier
Open step 2. Activate a supplier and click View suppliers, or open Browse suppliers. Every supplier card shows the number of products and the average delivery time. Activate the supplier of your choice - one-click suppliers work instantly, integrated suppliers require an account with the supplier. Your subscription determines how many suppliers you can activate. See Supplier and product limits explained.
Step 3: Import your first product
Open step 3. Import your first product and click View products, or use Search products:
Search or browse the supplier's products.
Click Add to import list on the products you want to sell.
Open the Import list, review your products, and click Import all (or select specific products to import).
Products first get the status "Pending import" and then appear in your shop. Large imports can take a while - as the app notes, the process might take up to 30 seconds per 1000 products.
Step 4 (recommended): Check your prices
Before promoting your shop, check your selling prices. In the supplier Settings you can configure your price rules and margins. Note: changing price settings does not automatically change products that are already in your import list or shop - click Update all product prices to apply the new rules to those products. You can also adjust prices per product in the import list.
Step 5 (recommended): Choose your subscription
The free plan is great for testing, but has a small product limit. When you are ready to scale, open the dashboard Usage block and click Change subscription to compare plans. See Subscriptions and what they include.
Tracking your progress
Each setup guide step is marked as done automatically when you complete it, and you can also tick Mark this step as completed yourself. Once all steps are done you can dismiss the guide from the dashboard.
