Import whole categories automatically (Shopify app)

How to add entire supplier categories (including subcategories) to your import list in the GOGETTERS Shopify app, and remove them again.

Instead of adding products one by one, you can work per supplier category in the GOGETTERS Shopify app. Add a whole category branch - including all its subcategories - to your import list in one click, and remove those products again just as easily.

Open the categories page

  1. Go to Suppliers in the app navigation.

  2. On the card of an active supplier, click View categories. (You can also reach it via the supplier's settings page.)

The page is titled Categories {supplier} and shows the supplier's category tree. Subcategories are indented (↳) and every category shows the number of products it contains. Categories that are currently enabled carry a Selected badge. Large trees are split into pages of 250 categories - use Page {page} of {pages} at the bottom to navigate.

Add a category branch to your import list

  1. Click the actions button (chevron) at the end of the category's row.

  2. Choose Add category to import list.

The category and all its subcategories are enabled, and their products are added to your import list in the background. You see the confirmation "Category has been added to the import list." It can take a few minutes before all products appear in your import list. See How the import list works.

Add several categories at once

  1. Tick the checkbox in front of each category you want. Ticking a category automatically ticks its subcategories; the checkbox in the header selects everything on the page.

  2. Click Add selected categories to import list.

Remove a category's products

  1. Open the actions menu of the category and choose Delete products, or tick categories and click Delete products from selected categories.

  2. Confirm in the Delete products dialog: "Are you sure you want to delete these products from your store and import list?" - click Delete.

This disables the categories and schedules all their products for deletion from your import list and your store. See Remove products.

Selected categories and automatic import

The Selected categories also control the supplier's automatic import: if you enable Automatically import products in the supplier settings, "Only products from selected categories will be imported automatically." See Supplier settings explained.

Import list stays empty after re-adding?

If you previously imported via categories, deleted the products, and now add products again, the list can stay empty because the old selection is still active. Deselect all categories, wait 3 minutes, select the desired categories again and stay on the page for 3 minutes; the products then show within 15 minutes. Still empty? Contact support.

Using WooCommerce, Prestashop or CCVShop? The portal has the same categories page per supplier, plus category mapping for WooCommerce. See Map supplier categories to your own (portal).
