Deactivate a supplier

How to deactivate a supplier in the GOGETTERS Shopify app or portal, and what happens to your products, updates and orders.

If you want to switch to a different supplier but your plan has reached its maximum number of suppliers, you first need to deactivate an existing supplier before you can activate the new one. This article shows you where to deactivate a supplier and what the consequences are.

Before you deactivate: remove the supplier's products

Always remove the supplier's products from your store first and wait until the deletion has finished. See Remove products. In the portal this is enforced - if the supplier still has active products you see:

"You have {cnt} active products. Please remove them from your store first."
"If you have recently deleted those products, please wait a few minutes and try again."

Deactivate in the Shopify app

  1. Go to Suppliers in the app navigation to open the Browse suppliers page.

  2. Click View on the supplier you want to deactivate. The supplier's info panel opens.

  3. Click Deactivate.

  4. Confirm in the Deactivate supplier dialog: "Are you sure you want to deactivate this supplier?" - click Deactivate.

Deactivate in the portal (WooCommerce / Prestashop / CCVShop)

  1. Go to Browse suppliers from your dashboard and open the supplier's page.

  2. Click Deactivate.

  3. Confirm in the dialog: "Are you sure you want to deactivate this supplier?" The dialog also reminds you: "Updates and orders won't work anymore." For one-click suppliers that require approval you additionally see: "You need to restart the approval process."

After confirming you see the message "Supplier successfully deactivated".

What happens when you deactivate

  • Updates and orders stop immediately. Stock and price updates are no longer processed, and new orders for this supplier's products are no longer forwarded.

  • A supplier slot is freed up, so you can activate a different supplier within your plan. See Supplier types explained.

  • Your import list entries for this supplier are cleaned up permanently a few days after deactivation. If you change your mind, reactivate the supplier quickly.

  • One-click suppliers that require approval: your approval does not carry over. If you want to work with the supplier again later, you need to go through the request process again. See Suppliers that require approval.

Reactivating later

You can activate the supplier again at any time (within your plan limits). If your configuration still exists, it is restored and you see "You have successfully reactived this supplier." See Activate a supplier (Shopify app).
