Introduction
GOGETTERS does not just copy the supplier's stock number into your store - you can control how stock is shown. This article covers all stock options, how to hide sold-out products, and what happens when a product disappears from the supplier's feed.
How and when stock is synchronised is explained in How stock and price sync works.
Minimum inventory level
If this is set, products with an inventory less than the given number will show as sold out. Use this as a safety buffer: if the supplier has only 2 left, they may be sold before your customer's order reaches the supplier.
Go to Suppliers and click Settings on the supplier.
Scroll to the Inventory section.
Fill in Minimum inventory level, for example 3.
Click Save.
Example: with a minimum of 3, a product with supplier stock 2 shows as sold out in your store; a product with stock 10 shows normally. This works the same in the Shopify app and the portal.
Maximum visible stock and fixed stock
Two extra options that our support team can configure for your connection:
Maximum visible stock: caps the stock number shown in your store. With a maximum of 25, a product with supplier stock 1,400 shows as 25 in your store. Useful if you do not want to reveal that products come from a big wholesale catalogue.
Fixed stock: every product that is in stock at the supplier shows the same fixed number in your store (for example, always 10). Products that are out of stock still show 0.
Contact support if you want one of these on your connection.
Backorder products
Some suppliers deliver products that are temporarily out of stock but can still be ordered (backorders). For the suppliers that support this, the supplier settings page has a Backorder section with the checkbox Allow backorder products - if checked, backorder products can be imported as well.
The opposite is also possible: support can configure your connection so that backorder products are always shown with stock 0 in your store. Then customers can only buy what is really on the shelf.
Sold out because of price protection
Stock is also used to protect your margin. In these cases a product is shown as sold out even though the supplier has stock:
The product does not meet your minimum margin (when minimum margin protection is configured without automatic price increase). See Set your margins per supplier.
The product's selling price is above the maximum price configured for your connection.
Products show sold out, but the supplier has stock?
First compare the stock in the GOGETTERS app with the stock in your webshop. Does the app show stock while your webshop shows the product as sold out? On Shopify this is usually caused by the supplier's location missing from your shipping profile. Follow these steps:
Go to your Shopify admin and log in to your Shopify shop.
Click Settings, at the bottom of the left side menu.
Go to Shipping and delivery.
Click your General shipping profile. Here you see an overview of your active shipping profiles.
Click Add location and select your supplier's location, for example: GOGETTERS - VidaXL or GOGETTERS - Van Der Meer.
Click Done or Save. The supplier is now linked to the shipping profile.
Your products should now display correctly as "in stock" in your webshop.
Prestashop users: freshly imported products may initially display as "stock 0". Within an hour this is updated to the correct value, provided the plugin settings are configured correctly.
Hide or remove sold-out products
You can choose to either hide or remove sold-out products.
To hide products (Shopify):
Create an automated collection.
Add the rule "Inventory is greater than 0". All products with a stock level of 0 will no longer be shown in this collection.
To remove products, use the import list:
Open the Import list.
Sort by stock: click the sort icon, choose Stock and Low to high, then click Apply.
Select the products you want to remove with the checkboxes.
Click Delete selected.
If you have a large number of products, contact our support team - we can remove all out-of-stock items for you.
Out-of-feed products (discontinued at the supplier)
Products that are removed from the product feed by the supplier remain in our system for 90 days. After these 90 days we remove them from our database.
On the supplier settings page you can set after how many days such a product may be removed from your shop, with the Delete after days setting (under Automation). This is set to 7 days by default, but you can increase it yourself. Set it to 0 to never remove products from your shop.
Please note: if you set this to 90 days or longer (or to 0), we can no longer manage the product after 90 days. If you still want to remove it after that, you can only do so via your webshop's own admin - no longer via the GOGETTERS app.
